North Thompson 3 Day Itinerary
Who’s ready to go on a grand adventure filled with scenic forests, long rivers, and large mountain ranges. Allow me to guide you through a 3 day plan to get as much joy as possible in this incredible region.
Day 1 Wells Gray Provincial Park
Clearwater & Wells Gray Provincial Park
Our adventure begins in the town of Clearwater. Located on BC Highway 5 located between Vancouver and the Canadian Rockies, Clearwater is a lively centre for activity, commerce, and community. No matter what season it is when you enter, there will always be something for you to do. Enjoy the scenery of over a dozen nearby waterfalls, traverse through a number of biking or hiking trails, or enjoy some of the local restaurants and coffee shops.

Day 2 Blue River
Clearwater & Wells Gray - Blue River
For day 2, we will be heading east on highway 5 until you reach Blue River. Surrounded by lush interior rainforests of spruce and cedar and large mountain peaks, you will find that no matter what time of year you come to visit, there will always be something for you to enjoy. If you’re visiting during the summertime, you will get to enjoy mountain biking, paddle boarding, and swimming, or if you’re visiting during the winter time you can go skiing, snowboarding, and even snowmobiling.

Day 3 Barriere
Blue River - Barriere/Clearwater
Hope you’ve enjoyed your stay so far because now you have 3 different options. You may choose to stay and enjoy your time at Blue River, drive back to Clearwater, or you can drive down to Barriere. Located 66 kms North of the city of Kamloops, Barriere is surrounded by scenic lakes and rivers with all of the conveniences of a large city. You can spend the afternoon enjoying the outdoors and visit some nearby parks or lakes. Or you can enjoy the local cafes and shops, and depending on the season you may be able to visit a farmers market or other community events.
