Evacuation Order Has Been Rescinded Near Princeton BC
The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen Emergency Operations Centre (RDOS EOC) has issued an Evacuation Order and Alert due to the August Lake Forest Fire. The Evacuation Order has been rescinded, and an evacuation alert has been issued for:
South of Highway 3
West to Amber Hill Road / Darcy Mountain Road adjacent of Sewer Treatment Plant
East to Willies Ranch Road
Includes Princeton Golf Club and Properties on Taylor Mill Drive
Properties north of Highway 3 along the Similkameen River
South of Princeton Cemetery Road
East of Copper Mountain Road
West of Willie Ranch Road

Category 2 Open Fire Ban Effective June 13, 2025
Category 2 open fires, as well as other equipment and activities will be prohibited throughout the Kamloops Fire Centre effective at 12:00 noon Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on June 13, 2025. This will be in effect until 12:00 noon Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on October 17, 2025 or until the orders are rescinded.
In addition to the already prohibited Category 3 open fires, Category 2 open fires, as well as other equipment and activities will be prohibited throughout the Kamloops Fire Centre effective at 12:00 noon Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on June 13, 2025.
This will be to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect public safety. This open fire prohibition will remain in effect until the earlier of 12:00 noon Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on October 17, 2025 or until the orders are rescinded.
Anyone conducting Category 2 open fires within the Kamloops Fire Centre’s jurisdiction must extinguish those fires by the 12:00 noon Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on June 13, 2025 deadline.

Effective May 17 2024 in B.C. it is now illegal to transport your watercraft with the drain plug still in place.
Before transporting a boat or other watercraft, owners/operators must remove the drain plug and drain all water on dry land including all internal compartments such as ballasts, bilges, and live wells.
